The York Water Company Launches Bill Discount Program to Support Low-Income Customers
York, Pennsylvania, June 4, 2026 – The York Water Company announced today the launch of a new bill discount program designed to make water service more affordable for income-qualified customers. The initiative reflects York Water’s ongoing commitment to ensuring safe, reliable, and accessible water service for all members of the community and our partnership with United Way of York County.
The program, administered by United Way of York County, offers eligible households a monthly discount on their water bills, helping to reduce financial strain while maintaining essential access to clean water. Customers who meet income and account standing criteria may qualify.
“Access to safe, clean water is a basic necessity,” said JT Hand, President and CEO of The York Water Company. “This program is about supporting our customers who need it most and making sure cost is not a barrier to this essential service. We are pleased to offer this additional program of support to assist our customers and proud to partner with such a respected partner as the United Way of York County.”
Key features of the program include:
- Monthly bill discounts for qualifying households
- Simple application process
“This collaboration reflects what’s possible when organizations come together to support neighbors in need,” said Brian Grimm, President of United Way of York County. “No one should have to choose between paying their water bill and meeting other basic needs. This program is about providing relief, dignity, and stability to families who need it most.”
