Since 1816, the mission of The York Water Company has been clear: protect our community and deliver safe, reliable water. Founded to prevent fire and supply water to local industry in York (then Yorktowne), York Water now collects, treats, and distributes drinking water to customers across York, Adams, Franklin, and Lancaster Counties.

New Director Appointment – Paul R. Bonney

THE YORK WATER COMPANY APPOINTS PAUL R. BONNEY AS NEW DIRECTOR

The York Water Company’s (Nasdaq: YORW) President and CEO, JT Hand, announced today that the Board of Directors of The York Water Company appointed a new director to the Board effective June 1, 2022. Mr. Paul R. Bonney, energy industry consultant and adjunct professor of business strategy, energy, and sustainability at Clemson University, was appointed to a class of directors with terms expiring at the 2025 Annual Meeting of Shareholders.

President Hand stated that: “Mr. Bonney brings experience in legal and regulatory affairs and management of rate and regulatory strategy and performance, including pursuit of utility-of-the-future initiatives. His knowledge and experience will be invaluable and significantly aid the Board and its Committees in York Water’s legal and regulatory strategy within the utility industry.”

Prior to consulting, Mr. Bonney has held various positions at Exelon Corporation in Philadelphia, Washington DC, Baltimore, and Chicago. His most recent roles included Senior Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Strategy at Pepco Holdings (2016-2018), Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Exelon’s Constellation commercial business (2012-2016), and General Counsel of PECO and Vice President of Regulatory Affairs (2007- 2012). Mr. Bonney holds a law degree from Georgetown University Law School, and a B.A. in Economics from Duke University. In addition, Mr. Bonney is an Advisory Board member of Kleinman Center for Energy Policy at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Bonney also frequently guest lectures at universities and speaks at industry conferences.
