Position Summary
ABOUT THE ROLE
York Water Company, the nation’s oldest investor-owned water utility, is seeking a collaborative and business-minded Business Systems Analyst to help support, maintain, and continuously improve our key business systems, including IFS and Cayenta.
In this role, you will work closely with departments across the company to ensure our core business applications run smoothly and continue to evolve to meet organizational needs. From finance and customer service to operations and HR, this position plays a central role in aligning technology with business processes, providing user support, troubleshooting, and driving thoughtful system improvements over time.
This is a hands-on role with long-term responsibility for the care and optimization of our business systems, ensuring they remain reliable, effective, and aligned with York Water’s mission and regulatory requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Business Systems Support & Administration
- Act as a functional expert and administrator for core business systems (IFS and Cayenta), maintaining configurations, overseeing upgrades, and providing end user support.
- Serve as a liaison between IT and business users, translating functional needs into system capabilities.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure stability and data integrity.
- Maintain process documentation and system configuration records.
Continuous Improvement & User Support
- Collaborate with departments to identify process and system improvement opportunities that align with evolving business needs.
- Develop test plans and coordinate user testing for updates, patches, and new functionality.
- Provide training and documentation to support users in effectively leveraging the systems.
- Work with IT and business teams to ensure systems stay current with regulatory and organizational requirements.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Reporting
- Partner with key business units to support reporting, process analysis, and workflow management within the ERP environment.
- Assist with data quality, system integrations, and process alignment across departments.
- Support enterprise data reporting efforts and regulatory reporting as needed.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Required Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, ERP Analyst, or similar role.
- Experience with ERP or enterprise business systems (IFS or Cayenta strongly preferred; Oracle, SAP, Infor, or Microsoft Dynamics also relevant).
- Solid understanding of business workflows and systems configuration.
- Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Bonus Points For
- Experience in utility, regulated industries, or public company environments.
- Familiarity with financial reporting, regulatory requirements, or SOX controls.
- Experience supporting user training, process documentation, and change management.
Physical Demands
- Ability to walk, sit, stand; occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch and bend.
- Required to sit for extended periods of time.
- Required to talk, hear, and see. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and differentiate between colors.
- Ability to ascend and descend stairs.
- Dexterity is mandatory as this job requires frequent use of hands and fingers, including keystrokes on the computer and keyboard, and calculator.
- Ability to work under stress and additional hours in order to meet deadlines
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The position primarily works in an office environment, seated at a desk for extended periods of time.
- This position works onsite full-time.
- Frequent and ongoing interaction with other employees and partners.
- Travel per month is approximately 15-20% between company locations as necessary.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
