The York Water Company has partnered with HomeServe, an independent company that offers optional protection plans for the service lines that connect your home to our systems. This program is designed to help homeowners prepare for the cost and inconvenience of a home repair emergency.

Understanding Your Responsibility

Many homeowners are not aware that they are responsible for the maintenance and repair of the service lines on their property that connect their homes to our systems. These repairs are not covered by The York Water Company and most basic homeowners insurance policies do not cover repairs needed because of normal wear-and-tear.

An Optional Solution

To assist homeowners, we have partnered with HomeServe to make available voluntary service plans. Key features of the program include:

  • Voluntary Enrollment: Participation is completely optional. We are making these plans available as a potential solution for our customers. Declining to enroll in the program will not affect your service.
  • Convenient Service: Participating homeowners have access to a 24-hour repair hotline to schedule a covered repair. HomeServe will dispatch a local, reliable contractor to handle your covered repair.
  • No Deductibles: The plans from HomeServe have no deductible or service fees on covered repairs, and repairs are guaranteed for one year.

We encourage you to review both your homeowners insurance policy and the service plan details to determine whether a HomeServe plan is a good fit for your household. You may also wish to contact your insurance provider to see if similar coverage is already available.
