The York Water Company, the oldest investor-owned water utility in the United States, has functioned continuously since 1816.
The Company is engaged in the business of impounding, purifying and distributing water within its franchised territory, and is regulated by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. The Company serves an estimated population of over 210,000 through approximately 75,000 service water and wastewater connections.
The Company serves 54 municipalities in York, Adams, and Franklin counties, located in south-central Pennsylvania, 40 miles north of Baltimore, Maryland.
