York Water Community Philanthropy

The York Water Company is dedicated to greater corporate responsibility and supporting the communities it serves.

We take great pride in the communities we serve. For more than 200 years, The York Water Company has strived to give back in support of creating success in the regions we call home. As one of the longest-standing companies in Central Pennsylvania, we remain dedicated to serving our customers and community. York Water Company invests locally and is committed to continually advancing the region through corporate responsibility.

Our commitment includes making annual investments in capital projects to improve water and wastewater services within York, Adams, and Franklin counties, ensuring that the future of our service remains consistent and of the highest quality. Additionally, our strategic investments include supporting local non-profit and service organizations who are working hard every day to lift our residents and improve the communities where we serve and live.

The impact of The York Water Company can be felt and seen in local parks, community services, and regional efforts impacting the quality of life in Central Pennsylvania.

Our commitment to our community and those who work tirelessly to make Central Pennsylvania a wonderful place to live and play runs deep. As we continue in our more than two centuries in business, we remain dedicated to identifying community opportunities where we can offer a helping hand to our neighbors in need and improve the quality of life for future generations.

From ensuring that our water reservoirs provide well-maintained outdoor spaces for public use activities to supporting a variety of organizations – including public education, civic groups, health care providers, and annual community service projects with contributions of support – we are a constant in our community.

Since the State’s inception of the Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program in 2009, York Water has donated more than $7 million to support non-profit organizations in the community. This year, more than 50 organizations received nearly $500,000 in EITC support to offer educational scholarships and invest in innovative programming through the State’s educational program.

The Educational Tax Improvement Credit (EITC) provides ax credits to eligible businesses contributing to a Scholarship Organization, an Educational Improvement Organization, and/or a Pre-Kindergarten Scholarship Organization.

Some York Water employees are Board or committee members, volunteers, or advocates of some of the non-profits that we donate to through the EITC Program.
